A bassinet stroller includes a dedicated carrycot-style sleep surface that positions your baby completely flat, rather than in a reclined or upright seat. Newborns need this lie-flat position to support healthy spinal and hip development during the early months. Some frames offer the bassinet as a swappable seat component, such as the UPPAbaby Vista V3; others include a separate pram body. In Canadian usage, "pram" and "bassinet stroller" refer to the same product. A deep-recline toddler seat is not a substitute for a true flat-lie bassinet.
